Celebrating Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month 2022

Birmingham Irish • June 25, 2022

As the month of June marks the celebrations of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month across the UK, we want to share the brilliant resource and event offerings made by Friends Families and Travellers, to spread inclusivity and kindness for these fascinating communities.

As their 2022 message centres around “What Makes A Home” for Gypsy, Rome and Travelling Communities, we wanted to share news of their student and school competition running until the 8th July, as well as other brilliant educational resources for the classroom and beyond.

To enter the competition, students, schools and classes can submit a piece of art, poetry, short stories (less than 500 words) or videos (less than 3 minutes) based upon the theme of “What Makes a Home” before 8th July 2022 to promote inclusion within classrooms.

Winners of the competition will be announced in August, to whom book vouchers of up to £100 will be given.
