'We Built This City - Joe Cook'
Local musician and spoken word artist Joe Cook was commissioned by BIA and Ceol Agency to write ‘We Built This City’. It was performed live in Centenary Square as part of BIA’s ‘Twilight Takeover’ for Birmingham Festival 2023.
Birmingham St Patrick's Parade 2023
BIA are the new custodians of Birmingham St Patricks Day Festival. We will take the opportunity to review, refresh and refocus the Parade. We aim to secure the Parade for future generations and showcase the Irish community. Take a look at the 2023 event held at Canon Hill Park.
We Built This City
We Built this City was a project undertaken by the Birmingham Irish Association that told the stories of the many Irish migrants arriving in the United Kingdom after the war, and portrays their lives and the enormous contribution they made to building the City of Birmingham.

President of Ireland visit to Birmingham Irish
On the 11 February 2019 the Birmingham Irish Association were delighted to welcome the President of Ireland, Michael. D.Higgins, to Birmingham, The President met members of the Irish community as well as visiting the Birmingham Pub Bombings memorial and civic leaders from the region.

Santa Claus visit to Birmingham Irish
On the 18 December 2019 Santa made a special visit to the Grotto at Birmingham Irish Association to visit children who may not of had the opportunity to see Fr Christmas. We also welcomed members of community who found themselves homeless or in need a bit of Christmas cheer.

A long history of supporting people ..
The Irish Welfare & Information Centre (IWIC) was founded in June 1957. In 2009 IWIC developed a partnership with Birmingham Irish Community Forum (BICF) and combined they were to become what's now known as Birmingham Irish Association.
