Meet our team! BIA Dementia Centre Care Support Worker, Ruth Geoghegan

Birmingham Irish • April 29, 2021

Over the course of the pandemic, it's safe to say that everything we have achieved so far as an organisation would be impossible without the sheer dedication, flexibility and teamwork from our small group of staff.

A wonderful example of the way in which our team has shifted and evolved with the ever-changing circumstances, is the hard work of our lovely Dementia Care Support Worker, Ruth.

Prior to the pandemic, Ruth was beginning to manage her own dementia centre with us at our Kings Heath location, but sadly, coronavirus had other plans and we had to close despite its brilliant success shortly after its opening.

Since then, Ruth's role with us has significantly changed, as she has been working incredibly hard with the rest of the team on all aspects of our COVID-19 extended services. From delivering, cooking and collection of hot meals and lunch bags, to taking calls from the public on our helpline, you're sure to see Ruth sharing positivity and a helping hand.

As an organisation, we can't begin to explain how much we owe to Ruth and those in her position in our organisation. We thank you so much as the optimism, drive and commitment to serve our community in their hour of need is what changes lives every single day, for hundreds across our city.

Our next edition of our newsletter will feature another fantastic staff member from our organisation, so make sure to stay tuned!
